New Inclusive Playground in YEO Park - Djarrawunang Playground is a hop, skip and jump from Outfield Cafe

Over the past few weeks of the school holidays, we've had the pleasure of welcoming so many new families at Outfield Cafe as they discover the brand-new Djarrawunang Inclusive Playground in Yeo Park. Officially opened on 13 June 2026, the playground has quickly become one of Sydney's best local destinations for families with young children.

The playground has been designed for children of all ages, stages, and abilities. Families can enjoy:

  • Inclusive swings

  • Multiple slides

  • Two flying foxes

  • An in-ground trampoline

  • Interactive water play area

  • A quiet sensory garden with stepping stones and balancing beams

  • Plenty of shaded seating for parents and carers

The beautifully landscaped gardens and fully enclosed play area make it easy to relax while children explore safely. What has parents most excited is that Outfield cafe is only a hop, skip and jump from the playground. So when parents ask the common question on any park playdate, “Is there good coffee near this playground?”

The answer is YES!

OuTfield cafe is a FAMILY-FRIENDLY cafe inner-west families have been gatekeeping

Simply wander up the hill past the little school in Yeo Park and you'll find Outfield Cafe, nestled amongst the trees overlooking the cricket oval.

We've always believed cafés should be welcoming for everyone, not just adults looking for coffee, but families wanting somewhere they can genuinely relax.

While parents enjoy specialty coffee, breakfast or brunch, children can:

  • Play with our much-loved Tonka truck collection

  • Explore the surrounding parklands

  • Kick a ball on the oval or hit a 6 on the cricket pitch

  • Head back to the playground just a short walk away

It's become the perfect combination of great food, excellent coffee and outdoor play.

Why Families Love Outfield Cafe

Unlike many busy cafés, Outfield is surrounded by open green space.

That means your morning doesn't need to end after breakfast. Families often spend hours chilling on a picnic rug, meeting friends, catching up with mothers' groups, celebrating birthdays or simply letting the kids burn off some energy while parents enjoy a second coffee.

Whether you're visiting from Ashfield, Summer Hill, Haberfield, Croydon, Ashbury, Burwood or anywhere in Sydney, Yeo Park has become a fantastic family destination.
